Snowboard-itis

It's a special Daddy Daughter Day! They headed up to Badger Pass to scratch a snowboard-itis itch!  With so many days of skies strapped on, the girls needed a change of pace.  So they locked their feet onto a boards with Daddy.  Josiah seemed to make her way down with a heel rock and occasional toe turn.  And Adalie went double style with Daddy!
Too much fun!

Valentine's

Valentine's Day was a fun celebration at home and at school. At school the girls passed out their sweet Valentine's crafts they had made. Josiah made sweet suckers and Adalie made Hersey kiss rings.  It was fun to create with them!
At home, Daddy surprised the girls with a little lovey of their own. It is so sweet to have a Dad who is intentional about loving on his girls. I remember the first of many conversations we had when the girls were just babies about his role in their lives as father. How he would need to be so intentional about being tender with them. That from him, they would know that they are delighted in. And since that day, I take so much joy from watching his interactions and thoughtfulness with them!

Disneyland

Disneyland is one of our very favorite places to be, but bring Amma and Grandpa along and the excitement goes through the roof!  We rode all of our favorite rides at least 4 times with our hands in the air, allowing ourselves to be swept away with all that is Disneyland.  We watched the parade with cotton candy, were awed by the dancing babies in Small World, and whipped around by Indiana Jones.
But nothing beats getting to take Adalie on Screamin' California for the very first time!  Unfortunately she was just shy of the height requirement, but we insisted we would keep going in line.  Who knew, she might grow a little while we waited?  And grow she did, thanks to Grandpa's extra thick stack of credit cards he keeps in his wallet!  What a thrill!!
Thank you Amma for loving Disneyland as much as we do!!
See you next year Mickey!

Ski Team

It has been a very slow beginning to our snow season.  It is February and there is not even enough snow to set gates for practice.  So it is back to the basics.  The girls love their ski team.  The kids are silly and fun, the coaches have a great balance and the mountain seems to be theirs.
Today I brought the girls up for practice.  While waiting to catch the chair lift, Adalie tells me she is going to ride with Coach Tom.  So. without further ado, she scoots herself forward in line, goes right in between the coaches who were talking over her head and stands there next to Coach Tom like she owns the place.  He looks down at her and asks, "Are you riding with me?" To which she replies, "yep."  And off they go up the mountain with not an inch of room to spare between them!

100 days 2012

Celebrating 100 Days of School!
Adalie had to fit 100 items into a big Ziploc bag.  So, together we glued 100 beads in order to create a beautiful butterfly!

Not Yet

The ski season has begun! Although I am sure that I am about to be left behind in a cloud of Josiah and Adalie's powder dust, it has not happened quite yet! These days of skiing together are so much fun! I love to watch the girls race down the hill with the thrill of their own speed and strength. Or to watch them follow their Daddy through a turkey trail and off a jump in the powder!
These are the days!

New Year's 2012

We met up with all the family at Shaver to ring in the New Year! We skied under blue bird skies, we built ginger bread mansions, we banged pots and pans, but mostly we waited our turn to hold our sweet new Libby Lou!

Happy new Year 2012!
