Cowgirl

Well, today was a special day for 2 reasons. First, Josiah got to ride the bus for the first time home to Piper's house and Second they got to ride Aunt Penny's horses!
What a treat!!
(Josiah 6, Piper 5, Ashlyn 4, Adalie 3yrs)

Cousin Ashlyn was quite the host. She showed us every step of the way to getting Petie ready to ride!

It was a real treat to get to watch our little Miss Ashlyn ride.... she is quite good in my unbiased opinion (and cute too)!!

After a few minutes of instruction from Aunt Penny, Josiah deemed herself quite the cowgirl!

Although Adalie started out just holding Petie's saddle and letting Aunt Penny walk her around the arena, with a little coaching she was ready to lead him all on her own! That smile is definitely ear to ear!

I am not sure which was more thrilling, the real horses or the gas powered ones!

Thank you Aunt Penny!

We can't wait to ride with you again!!

Easter

Well, Easter for us this year was one of those.... "Let the Games Begin" kind of weekends. The festivities started early with all kinds of egg fun in Kindergarten on Thursday. (Josiah, Adalie and Kaia dying eggs with Mrs. Nolen)

Here comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail, Easter's on its way!

Yes, many have said, "what on earth are you going to do when it is Adalie's turn for Kindergarten and she is really ready for 2nd grade?" Well, we will have to cross that bridge when we come to it and in the meantime be thankful that she is so graciously included!
Then off to Bakersfield for all the festivities. As tradition would have it, we joined Mimi and Papa CT after church at the club for a very yummy brunch. Thank You!

The whole gang was there... Campbell-Taylors, Stewarts, Hurts and Waltners......

And of course... the Easter Bunny. Josiah has figured it out.... she saw the guy inside the eye balls. But that didn't ruin the magic yet because .... well .... um... oh, I know!! You are right Josiah, that WAS a person in an Easter Bunny costume because the REAL Easter Bunny
was too busy hiding eggs! Yeah that's it!!

All the fam waiting for the Egg Race Hunt to begin.

Papa coaching the girls with some Egg Collection Strategy.

In pure Josiah fashion, she collected as many eggs as she could hold and then shared them with her sweet Little Sister who had only managed to collect a few. Watch out though next year, Adalie may be something to be reckoned with!

Our Family of Four.

Love these dresses!!

We finished off the day hunting for eggs again and again at Uncle Jon and Aunt Jen's house.

It was a serious hunt at the end of the day when we couldn't find 3 of the hard boiled eggs (oops, sorry for the stinky yard Uncle Jon!)

Sweet Easter Girls.

We are blessed in more ways than we can even imagine!!

My prayer is that we slow down, open our eyes and allow ourselves to see Him in everything; His sacrifice, His grace and mercy, His teaching and leading, His provision, and His love!

Josiah is 6!!

Yes, it is shocking but true.... our first born child has turned 6 years old!!

So, to celebrate such a momentous occasion, we invited family and friends to join us for Badger Pass' Spring Fest. It was a fun filled day of Obstacle Course Races, Slalom Course Races, Pond Skimming, live Band Music, Dummy Racing, cake eating and down hill skiing with friends. We are so grateful to all the special people in Josiah's life this year that joined us in celebration.

While the Cat's Away.....

Us girls survived the week while Daddy was in Mississippi with Living Waters and even managed to have some fun! Yes we were at least 5 minutes late everywhere we went, but I think there is some kind of disclaimer for tardiness when Daddy's are out of town. And it ends up Josiah's weepiness for the week was probably due to getting the flu.
My favorite line of the week had to be when we 3 girls were in bed reading books, and Adalie is suddenly very bummed out.... "Mommy there is no one to sleep on that side!"

But Grammy and Papa did come and stay the weekend with us.....
Adalie took Grammy on a walk to her favorite climbing gate......

And of course we skied.....

Josiah got poles for the day and did really well with them!

And of course whatever Sister does, we must also do!

What you can't see in this picture is Adalie is bonzaiing down the hill with the poles tucked, speed racer style!!

And this totally cracked me up ..... she is literally bombing down the hill, but just has to take a look at her poles to see how they look.
Thanx Grammy and Papa for a weekend distraction!!
