Once again... there are few things more fun when you are 5 years old then... Kindergarten!! Especially when you have the best teachers in the whole wide world. They capture their audience with great books, excite them with fun celebrations, and delight them with new knowledge and art!!

Snow Day

We live on the very border of most storms. All winter long we watch the forecast and cross our fingers for snow. Again this year, we have had LOTS of snow. The only catch.... you have to get out and enjoy it before its gone because even a foot of snow won't last long once the sun comes out.

Lucky for us... we got to enjoy this storm with one of our most favorite little guys... cousin Sage!! He and Adalie's favorite pass time... clearing the snow off the trampoline for a good ol' jump!

Valentine's

Valentine's Day was celebrated with a BBQ with Amma and Grandpa to decorate our cupcakes. Both girls make homemade Valentine's from craft goodies mailed to them from Grammy. Then sugar, sugar and more sugar at school!!

A Rare Day

It is February in the middle of a big storm year and we have a rare warm, sunny, beautiful day. With Daddy still in Haiti, among other things ... I am also the fun director. So we decided to take advantage of this gift given to us in the form of a gorgeous day. We packed our wagon, our dolls. and our lunch, and ventured down to one of our favorite place to hunt for treasure, put our toes in the water and have a picnic!

Oh, how I love these days of watching our children, of savoring a moment with them!

100th day of School

The 100th day of School celebration was alot of fun. A little different spin this year... they wore their 100 things on their hats and paraded around the school. Although the girls had alot of fun celebrating, I didn't know whether to be jumping for joy because the year is more than half over OR crying because the year is more than half over!!

Either way, the year has been better than I had ever hoped and prayed for!! Both girls are thriving in their classrooms, developing new relationships, learning new life lessons and having alot of fun!!

Haiti

"All the water mains and sewer lines in the city were destroyed by the earthquake. There is raw sewage running in the streets and no one had any water except what is provided by relief organizations. Fights over water are a daily occurrence, and some are quite violent. There are 2.5 million people in the city, one million living in tents or in the ruins of the earthquake, and another million in houses that are not even fit to called slums."
This is a place and a people that lack hope.
Although we missed him .... we are thankful for a Daddy that teaches us to take hope to the hopeless!! We found ourselves reminded to count those things that we often take for granted as true blessings!!
